Banjo Practice – Walkin’ in the Parlor

Walkin’ in the Parlor is about the most meditative tune I know on the banjo. While I was practicing it tonight, my Newfoundland dog Georgie decided it would be a perfect time to chew on a bone beside me.

    • Thank you. It’s amazing more bone-chewing noise wasn’t picked up on the recording. I’m sure he thought we were both making noise.

I love Walkin’ in the Parlor. It is simple and repetitive – I learned it from a great banjo player who called it “mantric” – and yet I find it is a difficult tune to deliver, so I play it all the time.

Have your say...
