I’m still messing about, trying to find the right theme for this blog. I appreciate the comments on the one I tried last night. I really liked the look of that one, but it wasn’t the most user friendly, and WC found a real problem with it. What I’m after is a theme that supports the content in a very clean, simple and uncluttered style. I think I was close with the first one I tried, but going into winter, it seemed just a little dreary. For now I don’t want to use a picture type banner.
I’m trying another one for today….I may yet change it again though.

the side bar is fine for me. the look is a little minimal but less is better than too much

OK, so I’m glad it just wasn’t me who was having that problem with the previous template! I was wondering if I was crazy! And, come to think of it, the sidebar didn’t show up for me on that one, either. This one is OK, even more bare bones, but not as attractive. The search goes on…
I prefer this format to the magazine style because it does things that the magazine format doesnt do. I “think” I prefer your first try to this one though. I say “think” because I dont totally remember exactly what the original was like but this one seems somehow colorless, maybe it just needs a background color.
The sidebar is in fact over on the side for me. I use an intel processor with windowsXP and firefox and nothing seems to have been put anywhere out of place. I think avoiding a big picture banner is a good thing for those of us still using dial up. Perhaps if you liked your original format here and thought it was close to what you wanted you need to just mess with the colors a bit if you have that option. I have never attempted a blog so I dont know what the software will allow you to do but I agree that simple and clean is the way to go.
I was just told that on some computers the sidebar comes up not on the side but on the bottom….that won’t do. Is it coming up OK for you?
