We planted this Shishigashira, or “Lion’s Head” Japanese Maple in our first year on Twenty Seventh Street. It’s done very well out front, and although this tree sustained some damage over last winter, it has recovered nicely. One of the things I love about the shishigashira is that it is among the last trees to change colour in our neighbourhood, and when it does, it is spectacular.
