Mister Anchovy’s is now 27th St. The Memphis blog and the Southern Ontario Fly Fisher will be integrated here as well. I’m not planning to import any content from those blogs to this one. Basically, I’m taking as little baggage with me as possible. I’ll edit and rebuild my blogroll. If I miss a link to you, sorry about that – shout at me and I’ll put it back.
The old blogs will continue to exist. They just won’t be updated beyond their final posts.
For those of you not amused that I’m changing things up a little, breath deeply, perhaps have a double scotch. This too will pass.

A friend of Wandering Coyote left a good tip for Blogger bloggers over at her place … that if they sign in here on WP with an email address other than their Gmail then their avatars will appear instead of the default fill-in one.

I’m more enthusiastic about blogging than ever, as it turns out. I just needed to refocus a little. You will see over the next few months that this blog features, on the one hand, more of the same kind of stuff, since that is the stuff of my life. At the same time, I think you will see the approach and the flavour of the blog will be a little different. How? Well, I’m making that up as I go along…

Good suggestion Salvelinas. As it turns out, there is a little text widget that allows me to add a welcome message, so I added one.
woah, this software is a whole world more efficient than the old blog. I don’t know if the software will let you do it but if it does it might be good to have a couple of lines of welcome over on the left so the folks who come from the flyfishing blog don’t see a hairy newf, get confused, and run away and vice versa. The about thingy is ok but not everyone clicks on an about.
Definitely a 5 fish upgrade.

Have you seen the P2 theme? You mentioned on the anchovy blog that at one time you’d thought of having the kind of blog where other people could post stuff … P2 is very pared down and kind of “Twitter-like”, and you can set it so that other WP bloggers can start conversation threads. But you can also post normal posts. In case you’re interested…
