On a whim this evening, I took another look at some WordPress themes. I’m pretty happy with WordPress, and with the new blog in general, and I liked the theme I picked. I was just feeling a little restless, and wondered what my content would look like in another theme. Anyway I stumbled across this one, which somehow or another I had overlooked before. I really like the magazine style format, and if you click on a post title, you get a page for that post.
I’m going to try it out for a while. Let me know how you like it.

Very clean and an interesting layout. However It’s almost too clean, too sparse. Like Salvelinas, I prefer the old layout I think.
Part of the problem is that i have the suspicion (I cant verify it though) is that with the old format I “think” I could see more than 3 posts. With the new format I can see only 3. That means that if I left a reply to a post 4 down I need to go fishing around in archives to see if someone bit my head off and no way in hell am I gonna go into archives in a blog. Perhaps only 3 were visible in the old format though and I am recalling an impression. The old format also showed the number of comments posted for a post, with this format I dont see that. The new format just doesnt feel as user friendly.
Fair points, Sal. That wouldn’t bother me because I use a blog reader to monitor new post in a number of blogs. I’m more worried about WC’s comment below.
There is another format I was looking at as well that I might play with later that might solve your concerns.
It’s bare bones, but it’s sharp. But there is a problem: when I go to click the “notify me of me of follow-up comments” box when leaving a comment, it activates the link to the previous post. I’ve actually left this comment three times now and lost it because of that.
hmmm, that must be some kind of code problem, and that’s a real problem.
shrug. I much prefer the previous format.
Well Geez, that’s not very encouraging. Is my brother the trout right? I’ll revert or keep trying if you all want me too. On the other hand, I’m hoping some of you enjoy this look.
