When I was a kid, I used to have a scratchy old record by The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem. I listened to the record until it was unplayable. Tuffy P and I had a chance to see the late Tommy Makem play a few years ago, and he played all those songs. I haven’t thought about those guys in quite a while, but after seeing Ramblin’ Jack last night, I thought about some of the characters who were part of that NY folk seen back in the early 60s.
