Regular readers will recall the photos I posted just a couple weeks ago of our little kitten Davey. Since those photos were taken, Davey became very ill. One day he was bouncing around full of joy and the next he had no energy, no appetite and laboured breathing. We took him to the vet only to discover that he had pneumonia. The treatment was a round of antibiotics. After a couple days, Davey regained a little appetite and we hoped he had turned the corner.
Unfortunately, Davey’s health did not continue to improve. Early this morning he was in distress and Tuffy P took him to the emergency vet clinic. Sadly there was nothing more we could do for the little guy except end his suffering.
Davey brought all kinds of joy to our household in the short time he was with us. It’s so sad he didn’t have a chance to live a full life. We’re really going to miss the little scamp.
This is so awfully awfully sad. I’d already fallen in love with Davey and was looking forward to watching him grow up. Oh dammit! Tears…
Every day we looked for signs that he was getting better. It really just sucks.
Sorry to hear this, Mr A. I laughed at the May 21 pictures at the time, how blurry they were, cos Davey clearly wouldn’t stay still — just as kittens are! They break your heart, these animals, man 😦
ya they do, *(asterisk).
This is the first I’ve read about little Davey. I am so, so sorry to hear about such sad news.
thanks for your kind words, everyone!
So very sorry – but I know in your care, he had some sweet last times.
On no! I am so very sorry. Davey was such a lovely little kitty. I hope it helps the heartache somewhat to know that Davey was able to enjoy his life as part of your family, short though it was.
Oh, I’m so sorry. I know you were looking forward to many years of kitty escapades with Davey. Nothing to do but take solace in the rest of your wonderful zoo… and take care.
Aw, I am so sorry to hear this sad news. I hope you guys take it easy tonight and make some cookies and tea and just chill. We are here with lots of pets and already getting attached to Jen’s dogs and cats….Buffy, Robert, Courage and Bodhi. So…its so sad to love a pet and then have something like this happen.
