Regular readers of this blog know that we recently adopted a red kitten, little Davey, who we lost from pneumonia after he only lived with us for a month. Tuffy P. decided we needed another red kitten. Nothing else would do. The other day, she came home with a little rescue kitten. The mom lived in a ferel cat colony and apparently deposited her kittens on someone’s porch.

The kitten she brought home is full of play. I just watched him attempt a daring curtain climb behind the computer where I type this. We decided to name him after a great painter, the late Jack Shadbolt. This will no doubt confuse some because we have a cat named Jacques (we call him Jox or Joxy) and we have a cat named Shadow – but we can’t help that. He’s Jack Shadbolt and that’s that.

I’m going out of town for a few days. If I don’t get a chance to post pictures later today, I will on the weekend when I return.
