We enjoyed following the Slotin Folk Art auction on-line over the weekend. We even bought a bit of art for Anchovy World Headquarters, including Ascension of Elijah, pictured below, by Lauren S. Kittle.

Slotin’s auctions are set up so you can bid in person, by phone, by advance bid, or live on the internet. It’s a little difficult to bid over the internet because you are removed form the auction hall, but for the most part, we were able to get the bids we wanted registered. There were 1327 lots for sale at this weekend’s auction and it was rapid-fire, with very few delays at all between items. I can only imagine that they had a group of auctioneers to spell one another off, as this auction went on and on and on. The good thing was that the catalogue, available on-line or hard copy, was in order, so if you were interested in a particular piece, you could tell when they were getting close.

Nicely done! I would be a little intimidated bidding remotely. Heck I would be intimidated bidding in person, who am I kidding. Great art you got though!

Have your say...
