I’m happy to report that various seeds are germinating in the veggie patch out back. Spinach, beets, lettuce, and carrots…everything very very tiny, but still a promise of the bounty to come.

A garden is where you kill weeds and insects in order to raise flowers and fruits and vegetables for the birds and animals to eat
And what sort of pests do you have to deal with? Snails? Insects? Rabbits?
My veggie garden is raised and rabbits are not a problem. I’ve seen opossums around but I don’t think they hurt the garden. Some critter likes to dig for grubs. Maybe it’s Mr. Skunk. We do have snails and an assortment of insects. My biggest problem for veggies is sun. Our yard has a number of mature trees that reduce the number of hours of direct sunlight. We have enough for veggies but it’s close, and some do better than others.
So exciting when those little green nubs peek out. Good luck!
Indeed. I know I check them constantly while they are sprouting and then wish I checked them more often later in the year ; )
I know that story!
haha, me too.
