These days I’ve been listening to a lot of stringband music, as regular visitors to this joint can attest. Still sometimes I need a dose of jazz, I need to hear the horns, those fantastic extensions of the human voice.

An absolutely remarkable artist! Most of us could never hope with the full use of both sides of our bodies to do half of what he managed with only one side after his stroke. IN some obscure corner of my memory, I’m sure I once heard a recording of him playing clarinet in the New Orleans style once – I’d love to hear that again if it exists, but maybe my mind is playing tricks on me.
Agreed. When I hear his music it stops me in my tracks.
