We were downtown this afternoon for the opening of a painting show at Yumart by Tim Noonan. Tim is an old friend going back to our York University days. When I do the math I realize I’ve known Tim for over 30 years. In the words of Charles Bukowski, the days run away like wild horses over the hills.

As long as I can remember, Tim’s work has been rooted in the land. He calls this show: Beyond the Park – Nearscapes. Tim’s paintings are bright and expressive and exuberant. Tim told me today these new works are inspired by his bike rides in Toronto, landscapes on the edge of the city. Works in this exhibition include watercolours, such as the one Tim is standing beside in the picture posted here, as well as acrylic and oil paintings.
