What snow?

I expected to wake up to fresh white coating of snow all around Anchovy World Headquarters, but when I drove Tuffy P to the Go-train station early this morning there was no accumulation at all and the snow coming down was changing quickly to rain. Now, mid-morning, there’s a cold rain steadily coming down. No winter quite yet. It’s the kind of weather our Newf Memphis seems to enjoy – cold and wet.

Jeesh, you guys. It feels like it could snow here, too! And I am in southern Alabama, a stones throw from the Florida line. I am FREEZING. Then again, cold to me is when I need to put on a coat. Y’all would probably think it’s nice here.

Hey Beej…I’ve never been to Alabama but I’d like to check it out one day. I associate Alabama with a performer, the late Cast King from Sand Mountain. I love his CD Sawmill Man.

They don’t clear residential streets here. They just wait for the next chinook to blow through. Last weekend five houses burned to the ground during a blizzard. Fire trucks were getting stuck.

We got a solid 6 inches of wet gloppy stuff here. The snow plow has been up twice and my driveway has a big honkin berm of snow at the road which I need to dig out. No rain at all.

The plows around here don’t plow in driveways. They have the ability to stop the snow from creating the berm as they pass the driveway, then open up the plow and continue pushing snow to the side after. It’s pretty good.
