Dogs still getting shocked?

There was a report the other day of another dog getting shocked after walking over a metal plate in a sidewalk, here in Toronto. I recall a number of reports of similar incidents a while back. It seems to me that the folks who manage our electricity spent a pile of money, nearly $4 Million,  finding and repairing “hotspots” around the city. Now we’re told that street shocks will always be a problem.

Isn’t it reasonable to expect our pets (and people!) won’t get zapped when they go for a walk?

This is crazy – and not safe! Like Dinners, I wonder what effect rain and other liquids have on the voltage?

I hadn’t heard anything about these for quite a while so had assumed there was no longer an issue. Sadly, I was wrong.

The good news is that the head of Hydro knows it is happening. That means that when some 2 year old in bare feet dies he can be charged with manslaughter and reckless endangerment and perhaps do some prison time. I think that likely would cause them to fix all the hot spots. The size of the lawsuits would be pretty spectacular as well I think

    It’s probably reasonable…but it is funny though…;-)

    Well…if you’re me it’s funny…soz….

On the plus side at least the dogs didn’t piss on it…they’d get more than a shock then!!!

er…Candy?…please say you weren’t caught short!!!!

    …behave Dinners…

Oh, that is so sad. I was shocked once by such a hotspot…and it hurt like hell. Can’t imagine how that feels for smaller animals.

Have your say...
