I haven’t been following the Olympics very closely. I’m sure most of you know sports commentary is not at the top of my list of features here at 27th Street. However, I couldn’t help but notice that our Women’s hockey team destroyed Slovakia 18-0. That’s a lot of goals. Geez, our pro hockey leafs sometimes have trouble putting together 18 shots and 18 goals could take them a lot of games. Wow.

I was at that game, and honestly Slovakia has a good team, especially their goalie. They just don’t have the speed like the Cdn women. That was the difference.
Yes, Slovakia did beat (I think) Bulgaria with a 80-0 score, but to be fair, the Bulgarian team only received their equipment that same day for the first time, so they didn’t know how to skate.
And wasn’t Slovakia a team that recently defeated another 80-0?
