Oakville Galleries host Goodwin exhibition

For those in the GTA, if you have a chance to get out to Oakville, check out the exhibition of  Betty Goodwin’s work at the Oakville Galleries Gairloch location at 1306 Lakeshore Rd. East. The exhibition is curated by Marnie Fleming and it features exclusively work from the extensive collection of Salah Bachir.

It is really a stunning collection, and the warm setting at Gairloch is perfect. We visited on Sunday, and it was a real treat to see all these images hanging together.  I particularly enjoyed some of the small drawings – quiet, persistant, and emotionally complex.

I always enjoy small drawings as well. They really lend themselves to intricate detail that you can lose yourself in.

This has nothing to do with your post, but I wanted to mention that I really like the banners. Can you maybe post to describe how they work? How much is randomly generated, how much is your own doing, and how do you do it?

      Hi Bloggerboy,
Nothing is randomly generated. I create a new banner almost every day, often starting with the the previous day’s banner and messing with it. I save the new one and then upload it to WordPress. As to how I manipulate the images, I use a program I’ve had kicking around for years, called Painter.
