I just read Sidetracked, one of Henning Mankell’s Wallander mysteries. At the same time, we’re watching some of the BBC productions of Mankell’s books starring Kenneth Branagh. Wallander is a frustrating character, stumbling through his messed up personal life, obsessed with the murder he’s trying to solve. Yet I like the character and I like both the book I just read and the television productions. Sidetracked is about a series of ritual ax murders and Wallander’s awkward attempts to figure them out before anther person gets killed.
I think I’ll read another in the series soon.
I’m not familiar with this series or this author, but you had me at ax murders!
there was no mention of the zombie apocalypse in the book though….
