Enjoyed a great afternoon with my friend Jamie and the dogs foraging for mushrooms.
We found mostly chanterelles but also a few hedgehog mushrooms and a couple lobsters. I had expected we would find some boletes and more lobsters, but the quantity of chanterelles (we found plenty) made up for that.



Looks like some fine eating is in your immediate future!
Last night I fried up a bunch of chanterelles with a chopped up ham steak, and when they were almost done, I added some bbq’d zucchini, eggplant and corn (left over from the night before), some salt, pepper and a sprinkle of hot chiles. Very nice.
I love mushrooms but would be too scared to go looking for them myself, you obviously know your mushrooms 😊
I’ve been foraging for a few years now. The trick is to learn the good ones one at a time – it helps a lot if you have someone experienced to show you the ropes. My brother helped me a lot!
