I had a look at the Midwest Banjo Camp website this morning and realized I didn’t post the group photo. I’m in there somewhere (left side of the photo, purple shirt, straw hat).
The next camp is at the beginning of June 2017. I see they once again have an excellent line-up of instructors. I’ve been twice before and if the universe unfolds as it should, I’ll be at the next camp as well.
That is an impressive gathering of banjoists! Which, of course, has me wondering what the collective term for banjoists is. A pluck of banjoists, perhaps?
I like that. A pluck of banjo freaks. There are both old time and bluegrass banjo players there, and maybe a smattering of tenor banjo players too, I’m not sure. The bluegrass guys (they have better hair and nicer outfits) and the old time guys even talk to one another, and from time to time play together.
