A few days ago, I received a message from a former neighbour alerting me to some strange Twitter activity from my City Councillor, Mark Grimes and an article on Toronto.com by David Nickle, also published in the current Etobicoke Guardian.

The article notes that late last Saturday night, Mark Grimes sent out a tweet to US VP Elect Kamala Harris to “Stop talking!!” What’s up with that? He followed that one up with another, telling someone to “go to bed and don’t forget to brush your Sheep.” These came from the @Mark_Grimes twitter feed. I’d like to understand where the Councillor was coming from, but he didn’t respond to requests from Toronto.com/Etobicoke Guardian for an interview. Refer to their article by David Nickle.

The article quotes Long Branch residents Aaron and Lisa Davis, who are connected to Grimes on his private Facebook page. In the article, Mr. Davis said that “the tone and content of the tweets Saturday night is consistent with some of the things he and his wife have seen on the Facebook page.” He shared various posts with the news source. This included one which joked about getting a COVID-19 vaccine from a Mexican clinic and how it has “turned him a bit Russian”.

I would rather not speculate about what’s going on here, but what option do we have in absence of an explanation from Councillor Grimes?
