Thank you Google

I want to thank the good folks at Google for flashing me a banner when I sign into Gmail, telling me their sign-in page has a new, modern look. Otherwise I likely wouldn’t have noticed, and that just wouldn’t do. I hope they continue to remind me of the good work they do for my convenience. And what a swell look it is. Very exciting.

Gee, I feel deprived (not.) My Google start page, so far, looks the same as ever.

I am way tired of websites fixing what ain’t broke so you have to hunt for things you used to be able to get to without even really looking. Starting with WordPress. If anyone wonders why I have barely posted in the past few years after updating three or four times a week in the first ten years of my blog, thank WordPress for redesigning its interface so you don’t know where to look for anything; removing the option to size images (maybe you still can? but where is the function?), refusing to keep me signed in, presenting me with a different series of sign-in prompts for every blog I still follow, and then…. trying to upsell me WordPress Extra Special or whatever it is to “build my influence” or some such feckin thing.
