Did you read about the cougar in Boston Bar BC that attacked the 11 year old child? The boy’s dog saved the day and fought the cougar off until help arrived. Boy and dog are both going to be OK.
I don’t know if Memphis has that kind of instinct. She might just roll over and think, “a cougar, how boring….does anyone have a snack?” or “Wanna play with the stick?.”

wow I have never heard of a big cat being road kill. Are they attacking cars or just being stupid?
I dont know if my border collie has defensive instincts but my previous one sure did. Even when someone pulled into the driveway and got out of the car her place was between us and the newcomer while she decided if the guy was ok or was a quick lunch.
I really like the look of this blog. This was a good interest story. Hated to see the poor dog covered with blood. Fascinating creatures, dogs. In Wyoming, cougars often laid at the edge of the golf course to watch the goings ons – never hurt anyone though. Still never trust a cougar!!! Just read that another Fl. panther had been road kill. Over 19 panthers or more killed on FL. highways this year.
