I think of Malcolm MacLaren as the Dr. Frankenstein of punk. In his words:
“Rock ‘n’ Roll doesn’t necessarily mean a band. It doesn’t mean a singer, and it doesn’t mean a lyric, really. It’s that question of trying to be immortal.”
RIP

wow – how did this escape my notice?
He changed millions of lives in ways he could never have imagined. Whether he cared particularly or not is a moot point. He did.
RIP for a true punk.
I was very sad yesterday at this news. We went out last night after work to a local spot…and it was a pleasant surprise to see a fellow customer had found all kinds of songs on the jukebox relevant to Malcolm McClaren.
Malcolm MacLaren was one of the more polarizing figures in pop culture history. But he always made for interesting news.
