It was written by Rudy Toombs for Amos Milburn, who recorded it in 1953. Since then it’s been recorded by John Lee Hooker, George Thorogood, Thurston Harris, Champion Jack Dupree and many more. Aldus Roger was great! I’m happy you like his version. I think most people associate this tune with John Lee Hooker or George Thorogood, and those are good too, but the Cajun version kind of turns the song on it’s end.
