Here’s a couple cuts by a lesser-known blues player named Juke Boy Bonner, whose music I came across more or less accidentally many years ago. He lived a fairly short life and if his songs are to be believed, not a very happy one. I like his blues because the songs come across as very personal and I enjoy his raw one-man-band approach.
Ridin’ the Greyhound Bus Again
Railroad Tracks
There are a number of cuts by Bonner on the YouTube. I was looking for Houston is an Action Town and Sportsman’s Blues, two of my faves, but couldn’t find them. I think these are a couple fine examples of his work though. I hope you enjoy them.
