I’ve learned that a lot of Canadian fiddlers play the Clarinet Polka. Here are two versions which have one player – not the fiddle player – in common. The first version is fiddled by Mark Sullivan, and it’s just fabulous! The accordion player is Jeremy Rusu. He’s a really hot player whether it’s accordion, piano or guitar.
The second version is by Patti Kusturok, also with Jeremy Rusu, this time on piano.
This tune is so much fun. It has another name, btw. It’s also called The Dziadek Polka (in Polish) or The Grandfather Polka (the English translation), and it’s a very popular tune with accordion or concertina driven polka bands as well.
