When winter is beautiful…

We were just out for a walk with the dogs. It’s snowing out, a fluffy snow that accumulates in the most delicate way. The brisk wind of early in the evening is absent now. The neighbourhood is quiet as a white blanket gently covers the ground. Our Newfoundland dogs Memphis and Ellie Mae love the fresh snow. They like to eat the snow as if the world were their snowcones, and poke their noses in, checking for whatever it is they have to check for, and sometimes they like to roll in the fresh snow and make doggy snow angels.

Winter would be wonderful if you lived in Tahiti and could look at pictures of it in books. If you have to live in it and shovel it winter sucks! Still 2 1/2 months of blizzards and sub zero temperatures and I hate every minute of it with a passion. The snow plow just went by and buried the end of my driveway. Again.

I’d like to see what a doggy snow angel looks like. My dog is a snow eater, too. In the summer we give her ice cubes, which she loves as well.

Just noticed you blogrolled me. Thank you šŸ™‚

What a beautiful image you paint! I love the idea of doggy snow angels. Lately I have been rather grateful that I don’t need to walk a dog in this bitter cold, but now I realise I am missing out.
