The weather predicting folks have been telling us for a few days we’re going to get hit with an ice storm this weekend. The last report I saw suggested rain turning to freezing rain later today followed by a full-fledged, nasty ice storm tomorrow, complete with power outages and enough ice pellets to measure in centimetres. I heard somebody on the radio suggest that those of us living very close to the lake could be spared the worst of it. I hope so.
This is happening just when those happy early spring blooms have been showing, fooling us into thinking maybe, just maybe some nice spring weather is right around the corner.
I’m going to head out shortly to get some groceries, then plan to stay close to home this weekend. I’ll emerge again when the ice melts.
