Allen Toussaint RIP

I heard today that Allen Toussaint died yesterday after performing a show in Madrid. Mr. Toussaint was 77. He was one of the monster talents of New Orleans music, a brilliant pianist, songwriter, performer and producer.

Cape Breton fiddle great Buddy MacMaster has passed at 89. Just listen to him play…Mr. MacMaster’s fiddle touches something way deep.  He spread a lot of love through his music. RIP.

Jesse Winchester RIP

Sad to hear of the passing of singer-songwriter Jesse Winchester. RIP. We had the pleasure of attending one of his wonderful performances at Hugh’s Room here in Toronto a few years back. He sure had a way with a song.
