New Bird in Town
There’s a new bird in town. Look…there, behind the bear’s breeches. You mean that red one? Ya, ya, that’s the one. You got the field guide? No, I thought you brought it. I think it’s a Scarlet Tanager. Really? Ya, a Scarlet Tanager.

Tuffy P and the lads from across the street had a great time creating some mosaics out back this afternoon.
New Garden
A couple weeks ago I decided to add another new garden out back, this time a checkerboard garden. I finally got around to doing the grunt work today. It’s no great shakes yet – some black-eyed susans and some begonias and some ground cover – but next year, I’ll start thinking about some interesting perennials for the space.
