The boys….

The boys….

I’ve been seeing house finches at the backyard feeders recently. Along with the blue jays, which come by from time to time, they add a shot of colour to the usual suspects at the feeders.

These shots were all taken from inside our house, from a window that overlooks the apple tree and the feeders.
I’m back at home after a short but productive trip to Chicago on Agency Podcast business. We took full advantage of being in the same city and not only recorded our regular weekly podcast, but also produced a bonus episode, recorded in two parts.
We recorded the first part in Candy & Stagg’s living room after watching Bong Joon Ho’s 2014 film, Snowpiercer. Bong Joon Ho’s current flick, Parasite, is clearly a gateway drug – we wasted no time in finding another of his movies.
Part 2 was recorded over a tasty Thai dinner, with guests Old Time musician Steve Rosen and Chicago artist Anthony Stagg. Supper conversations are always fun and I think you will enjoy this one. We called the bonus episode: All Aboard.

I came back to Toronto with a limited quantity of fashion-forward The Agency camo trucker caps. The best way to get your hands on one of these beauties is to email The Agency, include your mailing address, and ‘splain why you need Agency SWAG. Impress us with your email pitch and we’ll send you a cap (while supplies last).
I’m in Chicago for a few days, so for the first time Candy Minx and I were in the same city and same room to record an episode of The Agency podcast. Candy chose a great spot to do it – a funky tearoom in Pilsen – with a secret door disguised as a bookshelf – called Shadow Emporium.
You can hear it here or find us at iTunes/Apple Podcasts, Google Play or Tune-in.
We love to hear from you. Email us at theagency.podcast@gmail.com.
I’m in Chicago and Candy and I are at The Shadow Emporium, 1628 W 21 St in Pilsen. It’s an Apothecary and Tearoom – and we’re here to record the next episode of The Agency podcast.
The Agency podcast, new episodes weekly.

This morning, Sheila and I facilitated a mosaics activity with a few elderly residents at a long term care centre. The residents worked on two butterfly mosaics.

We pre-cut the butterfly shapes and also pre-cut a selection of broken crockery along with other items like big buttons.

The ladies got a good start on the mosaics. We’ll return in a week for another session. When completed their colourful creations will hang in the facility.
We really enjoyed sharing our experience making mosaics and I hope we were able to provide a fun and stimulating session for all those who participated.
As regular visitors to this oasis in the blog-o-swamp know, our Newfoundland dog George suffered a cut to the pad on his front left paw at some point in late summer. It was in a difficult spot and it took a really long time to heal.

As a result, his walking has been restricted, and we haven’t taken the dogs to their fave play spot – the leash-free area along Etobicoke Creek in a really long time.
George’s paw is finally healed up, and with snow on the horizon, we decided to take The Partners out to Etobicoke Creek this afternoon. They were so excited to hop in the car and have an adventure. Ruby even went for a couple swims. George didn’t go in the water, but he did goof around with some other dogs and I know he had a fun time.
Thanks to my old friend, The Cowboy Buddha Barry, for sharing his enthusiasm for Junior Brown this evening.
Here’s Junior with a surf medley….
